In this collaboration with the lab of Axel Mogk, ZMBH, University of Heidelberg, we contributed NMR data to validate AlphaFold2 predictions. This manuscripts characterizes ClpL, a disaggregase from the human pathogen Listeria monocytogenes, which provides enhanced heat resistance, therefore increasing the risk for food contamination and infection. This work highlights the importance of the N domain in substrate recognition and demonstrates that this disaggregase is more potent and has a different mechanism than the canonical Hsp70/AAA+ (ClpB) bi-chaperone disaggregase.

The Listeria monocytogenes persistence factor ClpL is a potent stand-alone disaggregase
